Call for papers

The research group of early Hungarian drama of the Institute for Literary Studies (of the Research Centre for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) organizes its regular triannial conference in Eger, on 1–4th September 2015. (As we had our first meeting in Eger in 1988, we return there for the tenth conference.)
What early means in Hungarian theatre history we know quite well, i.e., 17–18th and the first half of the 19th century. As the meaning of early might alter in different European aereas of culture, all papers on early drama and theatre are most welcome. We encourage our colleagues of international research to take part and give a talk.
The title refers to any point on the route between the text and the mis-en-scène of the drama as the expected topics of the papers.
The language of the conference: Hungarian, English, German, French.
Duration of the talks: 20 minutes
Eger is one of the most beautiful Baroque towns of Hungary with lovely surroundings and famous wines. The distance from Budapest is 120 km, there is a direct train and bus service from Budapest or you can reach it on the motorway M3.

Please send the title and a short abstract (of max. 250 words) of your planned paper to one of the following E-mail addresses: : egerkonf@gmail.com

The deadline of the title and abstract: 30 January 2015
